Fighting To Protect Your Rights In Texas DWI Cases

A conviction for a DWI charge in Texas can have a devastating impact on your future. In addition to the loss of your driver’s license and other criminal penalties, you will also have a permanent criminal record that could impact your employment and several other aspects of your life.

If you are facing charges for any type of drunk driving violation, it is critical you seek the advice of a Sherman defense lawyer who understands the law and has the ability to protect your rights. At Jeremy J. Poet Law Firm, PLLC, we defend North Texas clients against a broad range of DWI/DUI charges, including repeat offenders and DWI with a child passenger, among others.

Accepting A Conviction Is Not The Only Option

For many people who have been arrested on their first DWI offense, it is their first encounter with the law. They are frequently unaware of their rights and often make the mistake of assuming they have no other choice than to accept a conviction and live with the consequences.

The truth is there can be many effective defenses against most drunk driving charges, including the validity of the initial traffic stop and the accuracy of the blood alcohol content (BAC) test. We conduct a thorough investigation and present the strongest possible defense in every case.

Representation At DPS Hearings

If you are arrested for drunk driving, your license will be subject to suspension under the Administrative License Revocation (ALR) Program. This is a separate proceeding from the criminal charge and is only used to determine whether you will be allowed to keep your license.

You have 15 days from the day of your arrest to request a hearing to challenge the suspension. If you miss the deadline, the suspension will automatically go into effect. We take care of filing the request for your hearing and will be there to represent you.
